Here at Jenoli, we work across Stockport and Greater Manchester, helping clients with their heating and plumbing needs. One of the tasks we complete most often is boiler servicing. But what exactly is a boiler service, and what does it involve? Well, as boiler experts, we have produced this guide to boiler servicing.

So, what is a boiler service?

A boiler service is a big part of boiler maintenance and involves testing the boiler for efficiency and functionality. This can only be completed by a registered and qualified gas engineer. As part of our boiler service, we will:

  • Check the inner components underneath the outer casing of your boiler. These will be tested for functionality, damage, and wear and tear.
  • Conduct a full and thorough gas pressure check. This will establish how well your boiler is performing, through different functions and temperatures. It will also indicate any leaks that may be occurring in the system.
  • Carry out a flue check to make sure it isn’t blocked and that there is no debris or dirt stuck in the flue. At this point we will also test the emissions being produced by the boiler, to make sure that they are safe.
  • Fully clean all of the components and parts, removing any dirt or dust which could potentially cause a huge problem for the boiler.

Once we have finished we will be sure to put your boiler back together and to ensure that we leave your space exactly as we found it.

If we discover any repairs or issues that need to be addressed, we will talk these through with you at the time, while also discussing the results of the tests we have conducted. Repairing any issues when they arise, can go a long way to preventing a full scale boiler breakdown in the future.

Before we leave, you will be given written documentation of the tests carried out and the results that have been found.
